It will retain in memory the last recorded temperature, so that you can compare one reading to another. A very clear female voice announces the temperature automatically and repeats it once again. Additional repeat announcements can be obtained by pushing a button, and the thermometer will shut itself off if the user forgets to do so. Batteries are included, and are easily replaced.
